Liability coverage

There are two types of compensation associated with liability coverage insurance: Bodily Injury and Property Damage.

Bodily Injury covers losses resulting from injuries you cause to others.
Property Damage covers repair costs or the value of others' property you have damaged.

Who is covered?

You and relatives living at your residence are covered when driving your car or another person’s car with the owner's permission.
Someone else driving your car with your permission.

What is covered?

The injured party (third-party benefit) can receive payments for damages related to:

Death
Injury
Medical care
Loss of services
Property damage (in certain states)

You are also covered for certain defense costs, bail bond costs and emergency first aid to others.

Uninsured Motor Vehicle Coverage

This coverage protects you if you have a loss caused by a hit-and-run driver or an at-fault driver who has no liability coverage.

Who is covered?

You and any covered passengers in your car.
You and any relatives living at your residence, if occupying another person's car.

Covers losses related to:

Death
Injury
Medical care
Property damage (in certain states)

Underinsured Motor Vehicle Coverage

This coverage protects against losses caused by an at-fault driver who has insufficient liability coverage to pay for your loss.

Who is covered?

You and any covered passengers in your car.
You and any relatives living at your residence, if occupying another person's car.

Covers losses related to:

Death
Injury
Medical care
Property damage (in certain states)
Protection for your vehicle

Collision Coverage

Collision coverage covers damage to your vehicle if it collides with another object.

Comprehensive Coverage

Comprehensive Coverage, also called Other Than Collision Coverage, covers damage to your car from a variety of non-collision events, including fire, theft, vandalism, falling rocks, hail, or impact from an animal (e.g., deer collision).
